A small ship owned port utilizing local 1st Nation activities. Do not have to take expensive excursions to enjoy this area unless you want to get away from the forest and local small town

We loved this port. We did a small group whale watching and we saw whales, sea otters, porpoise, sea lions, lots of eagles, a brown bear, ravens. Beautiful area

I had visited here 10 years ago and there was absolutely nothing here except an old canning factory that was no longer working. They have really added a lot to see and do in this port although most everything was very pricey. I would not take the shuttle into Hoonah as there is nothing there

Went on a bear excursion - saw 2 brown bear cubs. The port itself has a few shops. The city is 1.5 miles from port. Not much in the city. We walked on the beach back to the boat. This area is very rural and picturesque. Liked learning about the people that live there.

We had a blast on the zipline -- I wanted to go again! The kids loved the Chickpea adventure course, it was the perfect size for my 4 and 6 year old and gave them something adventurous to do.

Did taste of Hoonah tour booked through this app. This was with a local and there was only 4 of us. William was very knowledgeable and a great guide. Got to try Halibut for the first time at the Lodge. Would recommend booking something for this port as apart from walking through the small fishing town there is not much else to do.

The stream fishing was beautifully done. The tour was just our small group of four with two guides. We walked along the creek and each caught several fish. I believe between the four of us we caught over 25 fish. Peaceful and gorgeous trip.

Very pretty port. Not a lot to do but that's perfect. Big building with lots of little gift ships inside. A little pricey. A couple of restaurants right there. They had a fire pit going. We were finally able to indulge in one of our addictions, collecting rocks along the beach. Had a great time only to have the rocks confiscated when we got back onboard. :-( Was hoping to see a bear, no luck, but lots of huge bald eagles sitting on nests. Well worth getting off the ship to enjoy nature!
