Haines is a small town that has things to do and places to shop, but it isn't touristy like the other ports we visited, and I appreciated that. We went to the American Bald Eagle Foundation and it was very interesting but overpriced when purchased through the ship. If you want to go, it's not that far of a walk from the dock, or book outside of the ship's excursion package.

Very nice little town in another stunning setting. Took the Naturr and Wildlife Photography excursion, which took us to the Chilkat River and Chilkat Lake; both were really pretty. Again, lots of bald eagles. The tour itself was a bit of a disappointment. Chilkoot Mountains on sail-in were in-your-face gorgeous.

Activities limited unless you want to take the ferry to Skagway. We did a hike up Mt. Ripinski. Free. Nice trails. Took a shuttle to the trail head, walked back to town when we were done.

Nothing to do! The ship is in port way too long. Could have better used the time in Ketchikan.

The White Pass ferry/train that starts in Skagway takes up your entire time. There is a "red light" saloon that is fun, the Red Onion.
