Cruise tips
We took the small group ride. What an adrenaline rush, it’s not for the faint at heart but a lot of fun.
A hidden jewel. The bus to town cost $15.00 which included the trolly. By the time we got to the end of town I wanted to go back to the ship. My wife spotted the trolly but I wanted to stay on bus. I gave in and I’m glad I did, it made the whole day enjoyable. The trolly is a must if you plan to stay in the town.
What a slum. I wouldn’t suggest you walk past pier 39. Just within the last week (June 19,, 2023) there was a running gun battle from the bay bridge to pier 39 with injuries reported.
We booked a sightseeing bus excursion early and had a enjoyable time. There is a small agency that uses a stretched chop 1932 open air coup painted yellow that holds 8 people. Those who booked this said it was a blast.
Celebrity Millennium
Brush up on post cruise covid test if you are returning to the USA from a foreign port
Just walked around, no trips
Took the train ride, spectacular scenery but pack a lunch no food on train
Been to Victoria before and think it is a wasted port, Vancouver is way better
Nice to walk around, really big change from 30 years ago. Same shops you see in other ports
Celebrity Solstice
Unless you want prestige don’t bother with suite class if you get extra perks on a lower class cabin
Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia
Been here before, so much to see and do within walking distance. You can’t but have a good time in Vancouver
Dunmore East (Waterford), Ireland
There isn't anything at the port. The main reason for going there is an excursion to Waterford and crystal factory. This port requires a tender to the port
