Celebrity Eclipse

October 2023 - 7 Night Pacific Coastal (Los Angeles Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Things didn’t go as expected

We did this cruise to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Corazon and Robert from Blu made sure we celebrated in style. To be fair Celebrity has no control over the weather. We were fogged in five days of the trip. Second, while ashore at Pier 39 I fell, trashed my knee and spent the rest of the cruise in a wheel chair. Not Celebrity’s fault. The staff went out of their way to make me comfortable.

May 2022 - 10 Night Pacific Coastal (San Diego To Vancouver) Cruise on Celebrity Millennium

A great cruise as usual

Would I do this cruise again, probably not. This has nothing to do with the Cruiseline. I took this cruise not for the ports but for the previous experience with Celebrity and to kick back and relax.

Celebrity Millennium

September 2021 - 7 nights on Celebrity Millennium

Relaxing cruise

If it wasn’t for the poor weather it would have been great. We’ve been to the ports of call three times. It was amazing to see how they all grew from sleepy little towns to all grown up. Did a little shopping but mostly talked to the natives. Wish we could of gone to Icecy point strait

Celebrity Solstice

September 2019 - Alaska Tracy Arm Fjord Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Not up to par

Entertainment poor and extremely loud. Food in Ocean view poor. Choices in Luminae poor. Michael’s club not worth it, way better in the Ensamble lounge

Celebrity Infinity

November 2018 - 4 Night Bahamas (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

Wasn’t impressed with the INFINITY cruise ship, didn’t like the buffet setup. It wasn’t until two days into the cruise that I found out the dining area was divided into two sections, guess I’m used to the Eclipse. Really enjoyed Key West.

May 2016 - 12 Night British Isles (Amsterdam Roundtrip) Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

When I walked aboard I felt immediately at home. The bartender welcomed me back with a Heineken and I hadn’t even ordered yet. He remembered from the last cruise.

Cruise tips

Astoria, Oregon

A hidden jewel. The bus to town cost $15.00 which included the trolly. By the time we got to the end of town I wanted to go back to the ship. My wife spotted the trolly but I wanted to stay on bus. I gave in and I’m glad I did, it made the whole day enjoyable. The trolly is a must if you plan to stay in the town.

San Francisco, California

What a slum. I wouldn’t suggest you walk past pier 39. Just within the last week (June 19,, 2023) there was a running gun battle from the bay bridge to pier 39 with injuries reported.

Santa Barbara, California

We booked a sightseeing bus excursion early and had a enjoyable time. There is a small agency that uses a stretched chop 1932 open air coup painted yellow that holds 8 people. Those who booked this said it was a blast.

Brush up on post cruise covid test if you are returning to the USA from a foreign port

Skagway, Alaska

Took the train ride, spectacular scenery but pack a lunch no food on train

Ketchikan, Alaska

Nice to walk around, really big change from 30 years ago. Same shops you see in other ports

Celebrity Solstice

Celebrity Solstice

Unless you want prestige don’t bother with suite class if you get extra perks on a lower class cabin

Dunmore East (Waterford), Ireland

There isn't anything at the port. The main reason for going there is an excursion to Waterford and crystal factory. This port requires a tender to the port
