Review summary

We did this cruise to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. Corazon and Robert from Blu made sure we celebrated in style. To be fair Celebrity has no control over the weather. We were fogged in five days of the trip. Second, while ashore at Pier 39 I fell, trashed my knee and spent the rest of the cruise in a wheel chair. Not Celebrity’s fault. The staff went out of their way to make me comfortable.

Embarkation

Horrible. We landed early at 9:30, got our bags, and checked in with Celebrity transportation agent. Two hours later we were put on a bus and arrived at the port in an hour missing our dedicated check in time by one hour. It was pure chaos outside the terminal. Thanks to a sympathetic porter he got us in ahead of the loooong line. Who ever devised the dedicated check in program for not thinking of all that could go wrong that the traveler has no control over should be fired.

Except for the first day when everything was superb the rest of the cruise was ho hum.

Onboard Activities

Could effectively participate due to my injuries

Service and Staff

Couldn’t do enough for me. Whatever The Ship and programs lacked, the staff made up for

Ship Quality

Showing her age, needs exterior painting. Interior superb

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was adequate but it was our cabin attendant, Corazon that made our stay great. We’ve sailed Celebrity for 10-years and she was the best. Would like to add a photo but couldn’t get the program to select it from my library

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

We took the small group ride. What an adrenaline rush, it’s not for the faint at heart but a lot of fun.

Happy anniversary and thanks for sharing. Your embarkation experience proves the importance of flying in a day (or two) early so there is time for things to go wrong. And they will.
