Alaska Cruise
Grand Princess
Sail date: July 11, 2015
We chose a partial view stateroom that actually had good view over the lifeboat. Design of boat being symmetrical can be somewhat confusing which end you are at. Food was adequate, service at restaurants was great. Pastries unless the special of the night at the restaurant, not the buffet, were only adequate. The special dessert of the night was always good though and the special entree of the night. More help is needed at the customer service desk as lines tended to be long. Also resolving issues sometimes took talking with 3 employees.
Carnival Triumph
Sail date: January 21, 2017
i have never seen so many over weight people in one place. The continual, drinking, inappropriate dress an drew language were just part of the party for most.
Wait staff, stewards and front desk staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Never saw cruise director except to do announcements at shows. Rooms wer adequate,, though hair dryer was broken, tv had to be clicked about five times to change the channel, faucet had to be maneuvered to shut off and there was no chair in the room.
Shows were adequate and enjoyable except one night there was no show an drew the magician only did two acts poorly.
Food was just ok. I think they must not have had a pastry chef a son seemed like commercial desserts. Though the frog legs wer delicious. And the hamburgers wer fabulous. Stale hard tortillas wer in the taco bar. Having a set dining time an drew not being able to request table for two ahead was not acceptable.
Embarkation process went quickly but we wer the last half hour. Debarkation on the other hand to be given walk off time later than time of assigned group is not reasonable either. Very unclear.
Would never wer travel on Carnival again.
Take the public bus to the Totem Bight park and walk to the Totem Heritage center.
Park Ranger tour of the city is very informative. Yukon tour not impressive except for nice scenery.
Foggy so didn't do the tram but used shuttle to get to the glacier.
Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia
Pancake and breakfast places just around the corner.
Wow our captain did such a great job of getting up and close.
Wow again our captain did such a great job of getting up and close.

Entertainment in the theatre arrive early but always good.
