I really wonder what actually happened. As it turns out this storm they were running north from followed them and bashed the Canadian maritimes which was where the ship was heading after 3 days in Boston.

Checked and there is only 1 review.

Well I would have packed incorrectly, but at least I'd be on a cruise. I wouldn't be happy either, but it's a risk you take when you book any cruise.

Normally I would say "Sure, let's GO!" however, I wouldn't be too happy with this: Boston is my home port, so I'd basically be going HOME!

I recall a few years ago that this also happened where Caribbean cruises were rerouted north to Canada but it was in September when it was warmer and hurricane season in the south and not a 3 day layover in Boston in late December wearing your best beach clothes .....

A post so good - it is worth repeating !!

You guys are killin me! Been on a few wih rough seas...and one which was a bit more than that heheheh..not counting about 3/4 of the passengers (I figure) who were to sick to eat (Jurassic park i.e. the buffet) which was empty, so we actually ate there a few times.. the bars were fairly full, of course......especially the ones with a view...happens all the time...and folks learned what the hand rails are for in the companionways..in all seriousness, i can see where a few thousand people are given a choice to decide what to do and then access whomever, wherever and all at once could tend to make an unfortunate situation much much worse..anger iis like a contagion...spreading....btw...anyone see the prices of clothing in the so-called ships stores???? bet they were selling cold weather/rain gear etc like proverbial hotcakes....

And they didn't even ask the passengers! Tsk tsk! Some folks buy so completely into the floating hotel concept they completely forget its a SHIP AT SEA.....And all that entails.

I may have been disappointed about the change, since I only have so much time off. But to go off on the cruise line, well, that's just a waste of energy. Because of this storm, didn't another cruise line remain at sea instead of hitting any ports? You can't always trust Mother Nature.

Now, it could be fun sailing into a massive storm while trying to sit in the Martini lounge?
