WHEN YOU HAVE THE SHIP PRACTICALLY TO YOURSELF...EVERYTHING CHANGES

Regulars in here know we hardly ever get off those W. Carib boat rides anymore...been to all those ports several times...not interested in the loooong walks, over priced sweaty tours (to places we've been) or paying for "amenities" which in fact are free onboard..Greatest parts of last one on VISTA were 3 port days...wandered to the pizzeria, no lines..had TWO pepperonies made fresh for us, watching the crowds on shore through my 10x50's...went to the deli...tried to eat our way thtrough their menu...no line, sit anywhere...same everywhere, went strolling, spoke to three different ship's officers...about nothing worth remembering...heheh..didn't get to see Captain Guilliame SanDePietrogeppetto tho...busy planning his next medical evac no doubt. (j/k...sort of)

Did our usual Continental on the balcony...Thanks AB...or more accurately, Tony the delivery kid thanks you for his raise to $3 per day...(set it up with room service almost ASA we got into the cabin)...then off to the MDR..fixed the HUB so we didn't even have to mess with it..got a notification our reservation was waiting, no reply or confirmation response necessary) and off to our breakfast table...nobody looked or even blinked...same for Dinner BTW, different table...(by the second day the "gate guards" smiled and waved, then went back to helping the multitude of lost souls).......then off to the "HAVANA EXPERIENCE" private, even quieter if thats possible...and NOBODY messes with your stuff when you leave it to go eat AGAIN...how quaint!! Some folks might say thats a boring day...not me...learned just how pleasant boring can be, a looooooong timne ago....always folks around to chat with, if thats your thing..

GIL155, I hope you find someone to share that couples message.
One of the reasons we like going on B2B sailings is that short period of time that you are on the ship with no new passengers. The first time only 75 of us on board for about an hour

I LOVE in port days. My two favorites memories (probably previously discussed) were watching the musicians and dancers rehearsing topside for new performers - ready 5, 6, 7, 8 and ... Repeat, repeat, repeat. Sooo much talent.

Over and over. So exciting as I sat in the sun, one chair occupied out of 75ish. Listening, watching, enjoying.

The second best memory was a port day after lobster night. The lunch buffet had a TON of lobster tails being handed out. A young lad in front of me wanted six or eight tails. The crew gave him four, saying come back for more after you finish those. I think I was kind, and ONLY took two. OK. MAYBE three.

I LOVE being aboard with few fellow passengers. Third favorite is a couples massage (glad she is gone) topside with the ocean breeze gently blowing the curtains in our private topside massage cabana. $99/couple for this marvelous 60-minute experience. (So glad she is gone). I would gladly repeat again. Just with a different female. Did I mention I am happy NOT to be with her any longer ???? (lol)

Happy cruising to all of you. New memories, and/or refreshing old memories.

What a terrible experience.Wink Glad you were able to do exactly what you wanted without the masses in your way. Sometimes, i just need to go touch the "ground" to say I was in port whatever. But we have been known to stay on the ship, especially when going on a B2B and we'll be there again next week.
