What's your favorite cruise memory/thing you like to do!

Hello.. thought it would be fun to share what you really like about cruising., for me one of my favorite things is sitting out on my balcony listening to the waves hit the ship and smelling the sea air, it's very calming.

My wife and I have only cruised on NCL (9 times) and the "PING" of the newly printed cruise card as we board the ship is a great sound to hear for the start of a fabulous vacation. Oh yeah, a glass full of Prosecco is a must first drink!

That is wonderful!

Not having a care in the world for a week

Very relatable, it was the most chill experience I had.

Fantastic story. Thanks for sharing!

October 2019, on a Mediterranean cruise. We pulled into the port of Naples, Italy and when I took my phone off airplane mode I saw that I had a voice mail on my phone. It was from a cousin, saying she wanted to talk to me, which was strange because I hadn't heard anything from my dad's side of the family since his memorial service in 2003. International texts were free, but calls were 25 cents a minute, so I texted her I was in Naples and would call her when I got home. Turns out that I have a half sister that neither I, my siblings, or even my mother knew about, but the rest of the family knew about all along. Mom died in 2000, so it's probably best she never found out. We connected, and I have a wonderful sister, that I never met or even knew existed until I was in my 60's!

This post literally made me tear up... I miss cruising so much!!

I enjoy seeing my hubby truly relax and decompress... takes the full first day but once he settles in it is so nice to see him just chill out..

I enjoyed seeing my son's reaction on his first cruise (July 2019) and the whole trip was all about him discovering how cool it was to be in the middle of the ocean and playing mini-golf..Foose ball etc. His face, when we pulled up and saw the Vista for the first time, was priceless.

Meeting the MDR waiter and staff for the week..and wonder how the heck they can remember all of us and what we like to drink etc. Same for the room steward, they are all so amazing.

I could go on and on..about it. I am looking forward to July 2021, being positive that we will all be sailing by then.

I swear every cruise tops the previous one, and before we even get off the ship. Is there anything better than having amazing food and beverages straight!

Just trying things that I would not get to try at home. Next year, I'm going on Empress and Anthem Of The Seas and I want to try the following, simply because I've never done them on a ship:

1.) Trampoline in the middle of the ocean!

2.) Ride Bumper Cars in the middle of the ocean!

3.) Go on, in essence, a giant Ferris Wheel in the middle of the ocean!

How many people can honestly say that they've done those things without being on a cruise?

All the answers so far are great.

For me, stepping from the gangway onto the deck of the ship, sipping that glass of champagne, and getting to know new shipmates all spell relaxation to me. When I step up to a bar and trade my SeaPass for a cold adult beverage, that signals the official start of my vacation.

Having morning coffee on the balcony tells me that life just doesn't get any better ! Happy
