WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CRUISELINE AND WHY?

I have been reading a lot of reviews since I joined cruiseline.com and I am a newby at cruising. Can you please tell me which is your FAVORITE CRUISELINE and WHY. Thank you in advance for helping in better understanding the various cruiselines. Cheers from Quebec, Canada.

As we do not like flying our first we look to cruises out of north east ports so we can drive to port. When we took our first cruise there were limited ships sailing to the Caribbean from the north east. We chose a 10 day on NCL out of NY sailing at the end of January. That got us hooked and we have stayed with NCL and ben very happy. Except one cruise we went with RCL out of NJ (just across the river from where NCL was) and enjoyed them. Now if you there are a number of lines out of NY all year round and Boston in the summer. We like the dynamics of NCL and the general non conformist feeling.

I have only sailed with Carnival. So far they have mostly met my expectations and have been a good value. As Yankee said, you can find plenty of negative reviews for every line. And some of those may be genuinely bad experiences, but anyone, anywhere can have a bad day. I think cruising is what you make of it. The negatives I've experienced have mostly come from fellow cruisers, generally those that feel some sort of exceptional entitlement. I think there's something to be said for the theory that longer cruises tend to weed out some of the riff raff doing a quickie booze cruise.

Also, I've met many cruisers that have shared their experiences on other lines over dinner. I've probably heard more from Royal Caribbean and Norwegian cruisers than any others, and they consistently have chosen Carnival.

Hope that helps.

Hey, at least I don't starch them....... any more.

Ah, a kindred soul. My wife laughs at me because I even hate wrinkled tee shirts. I had even caught her rolling her eyes one evening as I was leaving our cabin to go iron my wardrobe ensemble for the next day (tee shirt & shorts).

PS: Agree with you on CCL

Thank you for sharing your views. Yes I will bring the old mighty green ones with me - - no point in bringing Canadian dollars there, no one wants them 😂😂😂

Thank you very much for your input. Much appreciated.

We are still Carnival cruisers. We have sailed with them enough we know what to except. Are they perfect? No, but worth the amount of our vacation dollars. We also enjoy Princess on occasion. Unfortunately, the ships are getting bigger and less personal. My DH doesn’t like to wear wrinkled clothing, so having an ironing room is important for him. Carnival has that.

Oh I dunno anymore..they're all in the pay more for less mode now.....we've answered that question dozens of times for all kinds of "newbies"...all I can say is you can scan for those responses all over, in here and just about everywhere else fwiw...I try to ignore repsonses by posters who had a bad experience on a certain cruise line 16 years ago sometimes on a ship that may not even exist anymore, but then continue to state how they'll never cruise that line again...we have a few here, but theres really no way for you to know who they are unless you've been lurking for awhile....After typing one of those endless responses which accomplish not much of anything, some folks might even say thankyou. BTW, did you decide to take greenbacks to "Asia"? how much for the stewards, bartenders, wait staff etc etc?
