And yes ... I still love sailing Norwegian .... very much...

So do I..its been a bit of a stretch to take a serious plunge with another line. But I've opined more than once, old reviews and old sailings may not mean much as time passes. And btw OGW, I hope a whole bunch of peeps appreciate the due diligence it took to do that analysis. Those games they play have been bugging me for awhile now, and we finally decided to do something about it.

Not my favorite. Although I've only been on two other lines, I found that I did NOT like the freestyle dining experience at all! When I would try to get into a MDR, the wait was usually horrible, or not acceptable to a family with two kids. I missed having the same wait staff all week, and the chance to make new table friends. The buffet got very boring and predictable, and I wanted to be waited on instead of shuffling by an array of food behind a sneeze guard. That means we had to go to the specialty restaurants to have a relaxing dinner. That also meant extra money we wanted to spend on shore excursions was eaten up. I also found that they seemed to nickel and dime you at every turn. RC and Carnival didn't seem so nickel and dime oriented. Finally, we had a theft that could have only been done by an employee. It was from our room. All of our small souvenirs were in a bag in a dresser drawer. Any larger ones were spread in our luggage or in the safe or elsewhere. The last evening on board, while we were out of the room, someone grabbed the bag. I can only surmise they stopped because of fear of being discovered, and had not had a chance to ascertain what was in the bag. We came back and proceeded to pack our suitcases. I took one half of the room and my husband took the Half that had the souvenir bag. After packing we checked each other's sides as well as our own to make sure we hadn't left anything in a drawer, closet, or elsewhere. All clean. We only discovered the theft when we got home and unpacked. I realize that thieves are everywhere and not just on NCL, but this experience totally soured us on using them ever again.
