Hey Simon - does it matter if cruises are verified or not? How does that come into play or is it more of a means to prevent people from just bashing cruises they never took ...

This is correct.

We're able to consider verifying reviews this way on a limited, case-by-case basis. For consideration, send email a copy of your cruise folio and a photo of your cruise card (if available) to hello@cruiseline.com

Way I understand it is that you have to have booked the cruise through a Cruiseline partner travel agency. It is the travel agency who verifies your review. However, without the agent, If you are able to document the cruise through sending in a copy of your invoice and copy of your cruise card you can get your review "verified". Since I do not use TAs I have done the latter with no problem what so ever.

I believe to be "Verified" that cruiseline.com gets your cruise information verified through one of their cruise partners.

Simon may correct me on this but I think it is the cruise line that is verified rather than individual voyages.
