Upgrade or not

Agree that would be an intriguing view and really shouldn't be too noisy - how often is there a need for the helipad?

If you don't care about location, accept a free upgrade but hold off paying for one since you don't know exactly what you want.

Agree with comments cautioning about decks above and below - can be very loud directly under a pool deck or over a club...

Aligned on needing a window, although I have never stayed in an inside cabin. In an attempt to stretch our travel budget, I recently booked an interior cabin on HAL that has a window on a poolside deck.

I will let you know how it goes.

Others may be used to these on larger NCL, Royal, etc but this is a first for me as I prefer the more modest sized HAL ships and their inside cabins do not have windows.

Oceanview on deck 3 of the Equinox are below the shopping area on deck 4. My advice.... stay away.

HOWEVER

Oceanview on deck 7 appear to be facing the bow of the ship, with cabins directly above on deck 8. While this intrigues me, the deck plan does not show what's below, although a photo of the ship does not show anything in front of the windows except what appears to be a helipad. If my wife and I didn't have a strict "balcony only" policy, I might go for that, unless you anticipate ongoing helo takeoffs and landings.
