Upgrade email?

I just got an email from Carnival that I quality for an upgrade.  I'm 34 days out.  Is this normal?  I'm a little wary about it.  The email had my booking number, but when I select, it wants me to put in a credit card number.  I've already paid in full for everything.  I don't want to get screwed with a  scam.  Thoughts?  You think this is okay?

It is probably legit, but I'd call Carnival to confirm.  Yes, this is about the amount of time before the cruise you would be contacted for an upgrade (up-sell).  I am just more comfortable talking with a person I have called when it comes to these sort of things. When you call have all the information on the email available.

Yes, it's normal.  But when I got an upgrade I received a phone call.  For an extra $500 I got the suite.  Read my review about Carnival Valor.

Just before my sailing on the Crown Princess I had an email offering an upgrade.  I wasn't sure about it so I called.  The customer service agent said it was legit and I did it over the phone.

So if your not comfortable you can call and they'll be happy to take care of you.

My upgrade on the Crown was from interior to balcony.

Speaking of upgrades.  I've been watching this guy's videos.  He's a travel agent and has videos on cruises and other vacations.  Seems like a good guy and I think this is legit.  It's about his upgrade to a full suite.  One of those two story ones.  As I said, I've been watching his videos and I think he's legit.  I enjoyed his story.  He also won big in the casino on the same cruise.

I also think it's legit, but of they have asked for your credit card, it's so they can bill you for the upgrade. Getting an upgrade doesn't mean it's a FREE upgrade. We've been called twice and both times there was an extra fee so we turned it down.

Great news!  I got my upgrade!  It is on a lower level, but I'm not complaining because I have a window and a little bit bigger room.  AND was able to snag "Your Time Dining" too.  This is going to be a great graduation present for my daughter.  Mother/Daughter trip can't get here soon enough!!  Thanks for all the advise.
