You do know that most ships have a few movie nights for free on the cruise, correct?

Yes thank you, that is my plan. It would be cool if it works!

I am late to the party but I would definitely say bring it and see what happens! I have had success recently in using this method and, or streaming my computer through the TV cruise ship; also do the same at hotels.

As for your movie plans ... you would need some sort of app on the TV or something like a laptop or tablet that could stream the movie. Or have an app on your USB that can play the movie.

Most NCL ships that I have encountered had standard samsung TV which most have one or 2 USB ports. Pretty standard on most TV.

How about a large screen Lap Top.

If this is your first cruise, you'll be taking away from your cruise by hanging out in your cabin. Part of the glamor of the cruise is exploring the ship and getting to know about your cruise. Another good thing is people watch. Watch what they are doing to enjoy their cruise. At night there is so many things going on through the ship that will keep you entertained.

Even a walk about ship in the wee hours of the night is relaxing.

Have a great cruise.

thanks everyone first cruise, Msc fantasia in october. i had a brilliant idea that i could put all of my favorite movies on a flash drive then plug it into the tv - and have a few movie nights with friends. i guess i could always bring my own tv, but that prob won't happen.

Wink you got that right.

If I had to bet on it, I'd say no. and the actual number of USB ports in the cabin "in toto" has always been a bone of contention. Besides...channels you can get on cruiselines seem to be designed to get you out of the cabin...you better like soccer....

i agree it depends on the cruise line and ship. on royal it was a smart tv . i didnt check to see if ports where working.
