trying to fine port tips unable to fine them on some ports.

Hi all I have been a member for a while now just not active. I heard this was a good place to come for tips on the Caribbean. My source was cruisetipTV. I have been on two cruise both with Norwegian on the Jewel. One was to western Caribbean and the other to Alaska. My third one is in December on the Pearl. My fourth cruise will be Carvinal next year because it is free cruise kind off. I love cruising.

I have been looking for tips on my ports or suggestions on how to see stuff. Lot of the reviews are mixed and leaves me more consfued. Where can I go to fine out more what to do in port and if it is better to hire local tour guide or go with cruise or just take public transportation or walk around ?

A good place to look is on Ship Mate app for your smart phone. Sign up the roll call for your cruse then you can go to each port and see post from past travelers on what is good to see and where is good to eat. It is also nice since it is onl your phone you can take it with you in port.

Many of us are refugees from CC -- tired of all the bickering there. Some of us still lurk, and one of us tends to troll there occasionallyWink. Although we may not have all the information in the archives, as a community we do have a lot of the knowledge available only for the asking.

As far as reviews, I find that I tend to ignore the 5 star (fanboy) and the 1 star (haters) reviews. I believe the information contained in the 2, 3 and 4 star reviews to be more balanced and reliable.

I like this site and come often since it's easier to use IMO. But CruiseCritic.com has even more info it seems to me. You might want to check it out.

The Norwegian Jewel is a great choice - an older ship that just came out of dry dock with all cabins updated and many "common areas" "refreshed" under the line's "Norwegian Edge" customer enhancement program. You don't mention your ports of call - essential in providing the kind of advice that you are asking for.
