This has to be the WORST itinerary out there

Scratching my head at this one.

We love Bermuda. It’s probably our favourite cruise. Once we dock we are in Bermuda for 2 1/2 days. The ship is our hotel. We are free to come and go as we please. We are headed there in April for our 30th. It has always been a 7 day voyage out of NY. The same line, NCL, has the same itinerary out of Boston. Here now, I give to you, what has to be the worst itinerary out of NY. 5 days. Bermuda.

Day 1. Leave from NYC

Day 2. Fun day at sea

Day 3. Dock at Bermuda. Leave at 5:00

Day 4. Fun day at sea

Day 5. Return to NYC

Are you kidding me !? One day, no, less than one day in Bermuda. I guess everyone gets off the ship, has lunch at either the Frog and Onion or the Swizzle Inn. A quick look around at some pink sand, and back on the ship. Those had better be some real fun days at sea.

If I had only 5 days to get away, I would do a quick Canada run.

We did Bermuda from Boston. Great short vacation. Love the Island. will go back hopefully in 2019. Must have more that an afternoon there. 2.5 days is great.

Great golfing there as well.

Its the worst itinerary, IMHO, not because of the island, but because of the time( or lack of time ) spent on the island.

IMHO I think the worst itinerary would be Nassau, Ocho Rios and Falmouth!! That would be a cruise where we would never get off the ship.

Have never been to Bermuda but I have heard it is beautiful. Have a great cruise!

Wanting to go to Bermuda and we were actually supposed to go there last May ... but then life got in the way and had to shelve those plans :(

I agree though BAK an afternoon just does not cut it. The 2 1/2 days was very interesting and I think an 8 or 9 day cruise giving 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 days there would be great as well. Think of it as a hybrid vacation. A cruise and a resort all in one but you have the same hotel room / cabin for both of them. Works for me.

That's the best... when you can slide a cruise between other activities.Big Smile

I'm doing a 5 night in 2018 from Cape Liberty on Anthem of the Seas that has 2 days in Bermuda. I wish there were cruises that leave from Florida to go Bermuda. That's why I've never been. But I'm capitalising on a trip to New York by taking the cruise in between

Unfortunately, cruises do not leave from FL ports to go to Bermuda for some reason. The last time i wanted to cruise to Bermuda, I had to fly to Bayonne NJ for a Celebrity cruise. We went to two different ports in Bermuda.

Lots of great reviews and gorgeous pictures, Bermuda definitely has my interest.

Sorry. Less than a full day in Bermuda is not worth the trip. UNLESS, it’s a new ship, or one we haven’t sailed on. Then I might consider it. Bermuda is one of the best ports we can get to from NY. Anything less than 7 days just don’t cut it. JMHO

This is a 4-night cruise with one port stop. There are hundreds of these every year and they are extremely popular. We’ve been on them from Tampa with only a stop in Cozumel, from Port Canaveral with only a stop in the Bahamas, from Galveston with only a stop in Cozumel. I’m sure there are other examples. This is the perfect option for folks who can’t take an entire week or want to try a quick cruise before committing to a longer one.

You should be calling this the BEST itinerary, BAK. With the huge number of potential cruisers in the New York area, this could introduce tons of people to the joys of cruising! The more demand for cruises in the area, the more new ships and itineraries your hometown ports will get. It may not be a good itinerary for you, but the results of it being offered could end up being fantastic!
