There’s no such thing as a dumb question

Yeah, whoever said that never read a cruise forum.

What is the dumbest question you’ve ever seen posted on a forum ? I mean , besides this one.

How do I measure my luggage ?

one person was worried because their luggage would mysteriously change its dimensions, depending on whether it was laying on the bed, or standing on the floor. On the bed , the length was the longest measurement, but when they placed it on the ground, (wait for it ). ……..the height was the longest measurement.

I finally had to explain that a 50 ft flagpole was 50’, regardless if it was laying on the ground, or if it was standing up. It wasn’t 50’ long, then suddenly 50’ high.

One woman asked if the ship would drain the pool, so her son could practice with his skateboard.

swear to God!

of course my reply was dripping with sarcasm. I told her sure they would. All she had to do was once onboard, ask for and fill out the “ Special Request Form”. Big Smile

Ever work in a plant? A big one? Ever send a new kid out to find a door widener? or a bucket of cleaning steam? course you had to send em to the right foreman, or team lead...depending on how gullible (or dayumm dumb) the kid was, he might be gone for hours. Rite of passage.

Anyway, once a woman in the cabin next door happened to be leaning on the rail on their balcony as we were doing the same. She was complaining about getting lost constantly..Told her all she had to do was look at the fish and they'd be pointing towards the bow. Then she'd know port from starboard. (I obviously assumed way too much..)Next morning, both of us having coffee, she said she thought I was kidding about the fish. Said she stared at the ocean and couldn't see any. Deadpan..I told her it was the fish in the carpet. She went back inside, came out a minute later, and said there are no fish in her cabin carpet....and the beat goes on....

All the classic ones but my favorite is "What time is the Midnight Buffet?"

But you gotta remember to watch that rebellious red fish .. he is always the only one swimming to the stern

On our most recent cruise, we were in pixals and they had the canal stock photos up. A lady turned to one of photographers and asked “ how did you get those? We haven’t been there yet!”. I seriously thought some of these questions were made up until I heard that.Big Smile

Well now that I happened to reread your question...you asked what is the dumbest question you've ever seen POSTED ON A FORUM..BESIDES THIS ONE ..either this forum or your question?...yuk yuk..j/k) Another forum (which shall go nameless) woman wanted to know if cruising solo meant she couldn't bring another person "to share"....hmmmmmmmm..........

Here's my favorite. Supposedly overheard by someone in line at the Guest Service desk on embarkation day.

"Why is the category of my cabin referred to as "Ocean View" when all I can see out the window is the cruise port?"

My wife and I were waiting in the rear elevator Lobby when I heard one passenger ask another " Which elevator goes to the front?"

Any "is it worth it? questions.
