We knew that some people would try to go the illegal route. If they get the virus, I promise I won’t be as sympathetic as they expect.

Are you really suggesting that there would (will) be nefarious individuals out there who would (will) actually forge the govt issued vaccination card? I'm shocked. Who would do such a thing?

It's too bad the govt doesn't make currency that easy to duplicate. I'd be a very, very rich man.

BTW: How do you handle the documentation of future vaccinations if your official gov't issued vaccine card has been laminated? Are you sure it's OK? If so, I suspect a rule change is coming. You're not suppose to do it with your paper Social Security Card.

Beats me who would do such a thing.....or why.....yuk far as laminating em, my SS card has been laminated for at least 50 years, never made a difference the handful of times I ever had to produce it, and as long as they keep sending us $$ as far as I'm concerned it could dry up and blow away...besides, its NOT supposed to be used for "identification purposes"..don't even carry it need...go see an md, and all they ever want is your dl, your medicare or medicaid card, and your ins card....somone wants to "see" your SS card, ask em you'll get a blank far as the "covid card" goes, what % of people have already lost or screwed em up??? in honor of your question, I called the pharmacy where we were "jabbed" as the Brits like to say..."why of course you could get another....."....add that to the ever-growing list of rule changes I have yet to find anyplace...if the dammmm things were that irreplaceable, they could've done a better job of preparing an ID to begin with. The IRS doesn't seem to have any problem cranking stuff out on the fly....

We were specifically told NOT to laminate the card. The person quoted is not from the CDC

So you say the person who told you not to laminate the card is?? Doesn't say anything about it on the card. Who did you call??

Spent the at least 10 min googling "laminating covid cards"....hundred of entries...the vast majority are offering laminaton either as a service when you get it or afterwards...THEN wasted at least another 10 minutes on the CDC site looking for ANY mention of the issue...couldn't find one...we bought a small 4x6 pkg of laminating sheerts at Walmart...cost about $4...I don't regret it. lets see what alot of the "unlaminated ones" look like after a few years in your wallet or purse....

My family and I are laminating ours. I'm also taking a photocopy to keep in my wallet in case it's needed to get into other places such as restaurants, doctor's offices, etc.

Can also keep a snap of it on your phone

Outstanding advice kids!!!!!!

I got my 2nd shot 2 days ago and went to Staples to get my card laminated and I was immediately told by the clerk that laminating the card would destroy it eventually. The clerk would laminate it for free, but, I would have to sign a waiver if I wanted to get it done. So I decided to take a picture with my phone front and back. This will give me a backup for now. At the time I received the shot, I also received confirmation emails for my appointments, a copy of my health record and verification I had received the shots from the provider. Since, these are paper cards they will be easy to duplicate and forge. There will always be someone willing to take advantage of the system. I guess the cruise lines can have you sign a document that says false information and documents will be punishable under penalty of the law.

Good for you DNB...just GETTING the shot series completed is a big load off...I know it was for for the lamination "destroying it eventually" never heard of such nonsense in my life...I got TWO military ID's issued 11,000 years ago and they look just fine...other than the fact I can't believe I looked THAT good back then old shot card on the other hand, is barely legible and faded...I did discover that apparently in INDIA they don't like it if you laminate something for a variety of reasons...but that way if you protect a doc from the heat, humidity, monsoons, etc, you need to get ANOTHER India.....riiiiiight...amazing what you can find on the web.....I'd still like a link to something "official" that says not to laminate em....not that I care...wouldn't surprise me one bit if the cruise lines added an assortment of docs because of the pandemic...for THEIR protection........
