Super Bowl onboard a ship

Yeah that is some of the most fun! I saw the Patriots/Eagles Super Bowl on a cruise and had a blast.
Sadly, no.
We were on Oasis for Pacquiao/Maywether 1. Every public TV on the ship was showing it, including the Aquatheatre. it was pretty incredible for an awful fight.
I also watched the Buffalo Bills miss their closest chance to the playoffs(which, lets face it, for us the playoffs are like the SB) in 22 years from onboard Empress while docked at Key West. Watched the first half at Margaritaville, then the 2nd half at the Schooner. 3 years later, they've gotten much better.
It has been fun to be part of the crowd during one of these major events. Even though the passengers are divided they have been friendly rivals. It is like we all have this common love of cruising so we are "one family" but some of favor different sides of the event. So far we have not encountered bitterness or anger at each other. Nice to see!
Sadly, I don't see many Superbowl gatherings happening this year, on or off a ship. I can see why, as I work in healthcare, but that doesn't mean that don't feel terrible about not being able to gather and have parties this year.
Haven't seen a SB, but managed several playoffs. AUNTIE is right....pick your spot and give the ol drink pkg a workout...frankly, I can watch soccer, but only in small doses and which on most ships seems to be shown 24/7. Don't start me on whats on TV (or more precisely whats NOT on TV) onboard, because the stock answer is you're not there to watch TV...and the cruise lines know it......but even the casinos ashore have better choices....and for sure THEY don't want you in your room...

Can I get an AMEN to that???? fwiw, we got hooked on curling the last Olympics..geez that seems like a million years ago doesnt it?..now theres darts and ax throwing and throwing a bean bag in a hole....(adults doing it mind you). I guess thats more fun IF you're actually doing it...can you imagine you and a bunch of friends half in the bag in an ax-throwing contest? hmmmm...less crowded an the bar after while heheheheh

All this type of activity is more fun on a ship (I haven't seen any ax throwing there) because not only do you have the drink factor but the movement of the ship. It's one of the reasons we enjoy playing mini-golf on the ship so much. Levels the playing field for those of us less coordinated types.

Curling is a great sport to watch. As with baseball it is very much a strategic game
