Hello Y'all. I am new to this site. I booked a cruise with Norwegian Breakaway out of New Orleans this year. I am flying to New Orleans Airport then shuttled to the Port. Day of. It makes Me a little nervous to fly in on day on embarkation. Anyone know what airline Norwegian uses? This will be My first cruise.

Roundtrip flight to the Port of New Orleans.
we are flying there Tuesday for a Thursday Breakaway cruise. I can't imagine flying anywhere day of cruise, ever. You sure you can't go at least one day early? It reduces your stress level a lot. No idea what NCL uses, but it has to cost more than what you could find.
I will talk to them next week and see if they can move My flight up a Day.
Welcome to the site, BTW!
When is you cruise?
Never sailed out of NOLA but we did repo on NCL Dawn to NOLA. Beautiful city and if you can go the day before it gives you a chance to see it and also reduce the stress. Sorry cannot even comment on the airport as we did not fly out but road Amtrak. We took the over night "City of New Orleans" to Chicago and then the next night the over night "Lakeshore Line" to Buffalo. Works great if you have the extra time. Hope the timings work well. Bon Voyage.
We cruise out of NOLA all the time. you can do it same day if everything works right...sure...otherwise you're frazzled mess. the airport, depending on traffic, could be up to an hour from the pier.traffic is a zoo, sundays are better... cabs are flat rated. plenty of em both ways. my .02 is fly in a day early..either stay at the airport and shuttle in (pick one with a real breakfast), or stay downtown and cab over to the pier...figure a couple hundred to stay downtown if you can get a reservation. We do it cuz we park at the motel for a week+.
The deal is, you become a frazzled mess not knowing if everything is going to go just right.
If you stay downtown stop by Cafe Beignet in the morning before heading to the ship. Yum!
Great information, OldGreyWolf, if I ever ride the rails, its on my bucket list ....
Wise option if it's available, if not boogie to the port ASAP, N.O. traffic is very unpredictable. Welcome to the cruise information location
I am not sure if NCL uses any particular air line. I know RCL offers air to sea but all they really do is match the price of what the air lines are offering. The advantage is that if there is a delay they will work to get you to the port.
