Packing light

Ladies, To the sea I go with the expected weather of 80 for 8 days. I want to pack light with minimal in mind. Is there anything you have packed you never used? Any tips are very appreciated. I have done the internet searching including Pinterest but I prefer the latest cruisers this time. Thanks

Although I never use them, I'm always compelled to sneak my wetsuit and scuba tanks into my carry-on.

JK. The best advice I heard for over packers like myself (and Aunt Pinkie) is to lay out everything you want to take on the bed next to your suitcase, then pack only half of it. It's really good advice and it worked well for my wife. The problem for me was I couldn't decide as to which half, so I end up taking around two thirds.

I always think I'm going to ruin clothing and end up with only one outfit for the whole cruise. However, like OPUS I used the ships laundry service on our last cruise to clean a pair of shorts that got stained. It was fast, cheap, and it got the job done, so I'm going to keep that in mind for our next cruise

In order to fly carry-on only, we tend to use the laundry service half way through the cruise.

Always 2 pairs of swim suits, and I usually bring lightweight sorts from Lands End that double as quick-dry swim suits as well.

My wife tends to wear all synthetics, so they dry faster, and are lightweight for the carry-on

Sorry, I tend to overpack. Surprised

Two bathing suits is a must for me, I am a water hound. Thank you for your great comments.

Best way to find out what you don't need is to forget something and see if you miss it or have your luggage make a detour ... as neither of those is very desirable ... I would recommend things that can be worn more than once and can be mixed and matched for a variety of combos .. also things that can be layered as sometimes the temperature does not always cooperate. Footwear, sandals / flops, sneakers and if desired 1 pair of dress shoes. Always good to bring 2 bathing suits.
