NYE cruising

Going on our first NYE cruise. Today the menu was posted. Looks great. Has anyone sailed on NYE? What (if anything) made it special?

We've sailed the Magic a few times. We enjoy this class of ship. I underestand there is now a non smoking casino, should be a pleasant change.

I can assure you that your suggestions will not be his choices.Big Smile

Seriously though, glad everything turned out well for him (and you)

I don't know if you have sailed on the Magic before. We were on her last year. She's a beaut.

OK, so here's what you'll have to order for him off that NYE menu

STARTER: Either the Dressed Watermelon & Cucumber or the Iceberg & Arugula (his choice).

ENTREE: Either the Turkey Kale Salad or the Indian Vegetarian (your choice).

DESSERT: Fruit Plate OR he can split a Triple-Chocolate with you (in addition to you having your own dessert of course. After all, it is New Years Eve ).

The house rule is “everything in moderation”. We can have a few alcoholic beverages, some deserts, and some of the special foods. But more exercise than usual.

WOW!!! DOUBLE WOW!!!...outstanding stuff...glad to learn he's ok....You guys eat healthy, exercise, stay off the sauce, all thru NYE and for TWO WEEKS on board?....hmmmmm!!! who do I call to nominate y'all for sainthood?????

Thanks, guys! Just to put all of this into perspective: my DH had a triple heart bypass November 3rd. He’s recovering well and the cruise is at his 8 weeks post op point. I’m so very grateful and happy he’ll have this opportunity to heal. I think he’ll use the gym for the first time, because he’s been using some of that type of equipment in rehab. Just think, we’ll come home healthier than when we left Big Smile

Atta gurl...we start "enjoying" it for real when we step on board...usually even if things aren't 100% at least we're on board, and can deal with it....getting there, on the other hand, involves alot of variables faaaar out of our ability to control, or endure....enjoy the hayull out of it.....

Have a great time. Enjoy it to the max.

We have our tickets and hotel reservations. We understand it’s probably going to be a zoo, but we were invited to join some friends and figured it was worth a try, once. We’ll decide if it’s worth it once we’ve done it. That’s one reason we booked a B2B.

I maintain 100k (top tier) frequent flyer status with a OneWorld airline, 50k (mid tier) with a Star Alliance airline, Platinum status with another airline, and I have a Southwest companion pass. (If I'm not cruising, I'm usually traveling weekly between offices in Seattle, Orlando, LA and Denver) At least in our case, the airlines have always been incredible, sometimes rebooking us on another flight before we even know about a cancelled flight. As a backup, we sometimes book seats on two dates on Southwest using past credit. The flights are reserved, but the one we don't need can be cancelled and credited back as a future flight credit.
