Norwegian, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas among first cruise line to drop vaccination requirements...

Just in today - Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas announced they will lift vaccine requirements for travelers of all ages starting Sept. 3: https://cruiseline.com/advice/what-s-hot/news/several-cruise-lines-to-eliminate-pre-cruise-covid-testing

Do you think other cruise lines will follow suit? If so, who do you think will be next?

Royal isn't far behind. If you're not vaccinated, you still need to test, however, if you are vaccinated you only need to test if your cruise is 6 nights or more.

With that said, they're only allowing a certain portion of the passengers to be unvaccinated.

I'm tossing in my 2 pennies.

Cruises that thump their chest about being 100% vaccinated sailing, are getting infected with the virus. I know Carnival requires the passengers to be tested prior to boarding and yet, there is an outbreak on some ships.

The vaccine is not doing what they sold us on and isn't going to prevent you from getting the virus and I'm in that old people group and took the vaccines because of my age, uh health issues.

Amen Brother

According to the census bureau: 75% of the unvaccinated adults are under 50. Those of us who are elderly, know that we are at greater risk and if we don't have health reasons are more likely to be vaccinated. Just an FYI!!!Angry

Isolate vaxxed from unvaxxed??? what??? unvaxxed elderly passengers? They wont print what I just said out loud..good thing you couldn't hear it....I think your best bet is to stay off cruises...in case you haven't noticed, COVID is onboard every single ship, everywhere.

I hate this news.

That just means the unvaxxed will get aboard and spread COVID again.

Sigh...Angry

I hope they least isolate the vaccinated from the unvaxxed.

I have cruise on Regent Splendor next fall, and I do NOT want to sail with any unvaxxed elderly passengers.

Errrgg...

But as it says, they will follow port procedures, and since my cruise embarks from Rome I do not think I'll have anything to worry about. But I am concerned about US ports like Florida likely skipping all the rules entirely.

Precisely! Thanks for sharing your this!

Exactly...the headlines lead folks to believe its ALL done...just waltz on board...not hardly...

Yes. The cruise lines (NCL in my case) follows the port rules which for me in 4 weeks is Canada. We have to follow the ArriveCAN process

Make sure to read the fine print. There are extra requirements for the unvaccinated and they do still have to follow the policies laid out by the port countries, which means pre-cruise testing for any ship stopping in Bermuda, Canada and a few others.
