Non cruising nostalgia

I’m showing my age here but …..

remember when……..

Cracker Jack had good prizes.
Cereal boxes had license plates

The best toys, were also the most dangerous ( like lawn darts and chemistry sets )

Buying a book from the bookmobile at school.

School field trips .

Sleeping under the rear window in the car.

Full service gas stations where the attendant would ask ; leaded or unleaded .
Cap guns ( or just dropping a rock on a roll of caps )

Punks ( to keep mosquitos away ) or you could light a cat-tail aka pussy willow.

Vud-Vuts . Okay, you may be shaking your head at this one. Back in the day, if you lit a whiffle ball bat in a campfire, the molten plastic would drip off. The sound it made would go vuuuut, vuuuut, vuuuut. We just called it a vud-vut.

please, add on

A slice of pizza and a coke was around a dollar. Still had money to go to the candy / comic store, which where I grew up was called Bobs Kit & Kaboodle.

Never had one, but what about the red hot balls? And no one has mentioned Liquorice , black, red ?

I never smoked the real one's till I was 24 and then for only about 10 years. Should have stayed with the candy ones.

Remember the punks for the smoke and bugs, but never ever ruined a whiffle ball bat. Used to play whiffle ball with the solid and holed balls.
