My time dining reservation questions

Hey everyone,

How many days out from your cruise can you first reserve "my time dining" times? My cruise is 83 days out, so just wondering how many more days I have to wait

Thanks

Jake

Old threads are revived because new folks come aboard. Answers from 2 - 5 years ago may NOT be relevant today (i.e., where can I smoke in my cabin).

This is a fluent thread of conversation for current cruisers, and folks wanting to learn. A learning board of exchange, and sharing of information. All, IMO.

We always do MTD. We go down in the morning...find out what is on the menu for that night. If we like it, we make reservations for that night at 5:30 or 6. If we don't, there are plenty of other places to eat.

My Time dining and shows can be booked within 90 days of sailing on Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas ship. Just go to cruise planner on Royal's website when you log into your account. Just reserved shows and dining for September 17 2017 cruise. Hope this helps!

A year old thread being resurrected? I wonder why? Surprised

I knew this was an old thread when I saw that ewoodspark was a responder.

When we book with a Carnival travel professional, they always ask when do you want to dine. No problem, and you can dine on lido or steak house instead also. We had tablemates we did not like, so we ate on lido deck

"My time dining" is Royal Caribbean's term for open dining where you are able to decide on a daily basis when you want to eat dinner in the dining room. On some cruise lines you are obliged to prepay the gratuities when you take this option. NCL is not the only line that provides this dining flexibility. As an example HAL has the early seating @ 17:30, the late seating @ 20:30 and open seating from 17:15 until 21:00. If you want a specific time for the latter you can call for a reservation any time up until 15:00 on the day in question. We prefer the open option as it allows you to meet many more people by not being seated at the same table for every meal. In the event that you meet people with whom you make an immediate connection and wish to dine with them again, you can make arrangements with the concierge to seat you together at a future date.

We request our dining time when we book. If you wait too late you'll be wait-listed.

Thanks everyone,

I have cruise 8 times prior to this, and I am just wondering when is the soonest you can make reservations for "my time dining" online?

I realise that everybody requires different things on a cruise, but the idea of booking dining tables and reservations is really alien to us. We would have never taken our first cruise, if we have had to make bookings to eat. That is why we have only been with NCL with their freestyle concept. Eat when you want, where you want. When we go on holiday, we want to relax without thinking in advance when we want to eat. As I said though, personal choices
