The ship is "supposed" to have 9000 passengers. That is 50% more than the current largest which carry ~6000 passengers. No one wants a beast that big. No port wants a ship that large either. Hence it will be scrapped with never sailing. Some of the smaller Genting ships have sold and that is expected. There are actually 3 new cruise lines I saw announced yesterday that plan to start up so the industry might be in pain but it is certainly not yet dead. And there will be some rough waters ahead for a few lines but eventually things will smooth out. Will be interesting to see where this finally settles.

I’m sorry that anyone had to go bankrupt but not surprised. It was a ship I probably would NOT have sailed. This bigger is better thing doesn’t appeal to me. It would make a great hotel???? Thanks for sharing.

Well AB I see you tried to post 2x...very entertaining, especially the parts about bovine excrement. I agree. All the talking heads on mahogany row can do is spin numbers and wrap em around those "rosy" announcements. Mills, plants, etc etc etc can't hide behind the product they can't produce.

Actually, I posted a good one yesterday, (I thought) and it disappeared. FWIW, I'm taking it as a compliment. Sometimes I think hosing mud off the equipment around here is more useful.

Yep, they're all just doing sooo well............including the builders and about 2 zillion other businesses in the supply chain. Guess they can all take the hit, since its clear they won't be paid...Lots of newships "in the pipeline"...subject to delays etc...no matter how the talking heads try to spin it...folks who actually build things can't bs their way out of it...
