I Have Returned

My apologies for my long absence, but life reared it's ugly head for the past few months.

My wife had been battling cancer for the last 4 years, but it was a losing battle. On April 21, she sailed to the great port in the sky, finally freeing herself from the pain.

In an effort to return to normal (for me) life, I have scheduled a solo sailing on the Vista out of Galveston on June 11 - fitting nicely between my own cancer treatments (gotta sail while I can).

Hopefully this will be my last extended absence, as I have dearly missed this community.

I'm sorry to hear of both the loss of your wife and your own medical issues. Even for believers like me, that old phrase " God doesn't give us more burden than we can handle" can at times feel overwhelmingly untrue. Rest assured it is not, and I hope you'll be able to take comfort in the fact that your wife is at peace and there are people out here sending their good wishes, thoughts and prayers in your direction.

So sorry to hear about your wife. Understand the body is merely a vessel for the energy that we are. She is pain free and enjoying the afterlife.
