Hotel Help for Fort Lauderdale

We are are cruising on Coral Princess Fort Lauderdale to LA on 20 April, 2019. Could you please suggest hotels in FL conveniently located near restaurants, etc. we will not have a vehicle so want somewhere centrally located and not overly priced. We are travelling from Australia and it is our first visit to FL, therefore any suggestions as to sightseeing would be appreciated.

We live here in Ft Lauderdale area - if you want to stay by the port, you are very close to the beach - lots and lots of options from high end like Marriott Harbour Beach to the Westin, to more mid-tier as well. There are several hotels right across the street from Port Everglades too such as the Embassy Suites and Pier 66. The Riverhouse is a nice hotel right on Las Olas, los of dining and a walking street.

I would suggest downloading the Uber or Lyft apps to use for rides, must cheaper than taxis. Once you move past 17th Street, A1A or Las Olas then you are not really near anything without a taxi or car - the hotels on SR84 or Federal Highway that are nearby are newer, but longer walk to 17th Street restaurants.

Feel free to message me is you have any specific requests on places to go or see.

The Embassy Suites is great. It's walking distance to Publix Market and a wine shop in case you want to stock up before your cruise. I would advise grabbing a cab to the port though, on embarkation day as they charge for the shuttle, and make you wait until the shuttle is full.

We are staying LaQuinta Airport pre cruise and the Comfort Inn and Suites after our cruise. They are close to shops and restaurants.

I suggest taking a tour tour of the Everglades to see alligators and maybe manatee. The air boat tours are a lot of fun.

Thanks, will check it out.

Thank you, will take a look.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Los Olas. They have airport shuttle with optional paid shuttle to pier. They also have an area shuttle that will take you to restaurants and other attractions within a certain distance from the hotel.

Very clean.

I stay at Hilton Garden Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport. They have a free shuttle and a transfer to the cruise pier. It is across the street from plenty of places to eat, a supermarket, and department store. Great area, back off the highway.
