HELP! First cruise (carnival miracle) I have questions

So I am leaving in 2 weeks on the carnival miracle from Long Beach CA to Cabo with my husband and 16 year old son. We have never been on a cruise before.
1) how easy is it to get lost on the ship? I get lost easily.
2) there seems like a lot to do I feel like I’m going to miss out?

3) how long does check in take?

4) I’ve prepaid everything (wifi, drink package, shore excursions etc) what can I expect to pay for on the ship?

5) we had to select a dinner time but no breakfast and lunch time? Is dinner different?

6) is the dinner the buffet or ive heard the “main dining hall” is that like restaurant style??

7) is there a dress code for any part of the ship or time?
8) where do you set your room key/sail and sign card when you are in the pool, going on the water slide etc I don’t want anyone to take it and use my sail and sign.

im sure I will have more questions but these are the most of them.

I agree, it looks like a good choice of cabin.

Didn't sail this ship, but I looked at the deck plans. Always step one...Just curious, did you?, or did someone else pick it? Reason i ask, is it look better than fine to me. Location is just great..above, below...elevators close but not too too..Looks like its pretty much a standard balcony but its the last one where the shape of the ship causes that entire section to jut out a bit. Looks like you should be able to see the entire length of the ship facing forward...Hypnotic...Frankly, I'd take it...If you google just about any ship's name with a cabin number, you'll probably get a review...or one so close it would be virtually the same. Theres a vid of 6238 by a passenger....folks wonder why we book so far in advance...I can't tell you how many times we've stayed in the same cabin on certain ships...when you get a good thing, stick with it!! RELAX!!

So are balcony room on the miracle is room

6236. Anyone stay in this room? Is it nice? Did we choose well?

You're welcome. Hope it helps!

Happy thank you!

And this review from someone who was unaware of it until they sailed recently. I know it isn't the same ship but this should be available on all sailings. Carnival Horizon Cruise Review by Lovecruisn - March 13, 2022 (cruiseline.com)

During the broadcast part of the Safety Briefing, there will be loud "horns". People are advised that if they have sensitive ears or small children to be prepared for these. Plus, the music on the Lido can be quite loud.

Great stuff CK....sounds alot like we try to do....unfortunately, ships are, IMHO. less passenger friendly as time goes on, more geared towards turning you upside down and catching all your $$ as it falls out.. Could be my imagination...one word of caution. We would have loved to leave our suitcases in the cabin and wander down to breakfast in the MDR, then go back and get them. Some folks obviously did just that. But certain elevators are closed for debarkation. .Believe that may be only on certain ships... She can't navigate stairs...at least not several flights of them. So when we leave our cabin on debarkation morning, there's no going back. There's many many suitcases stacked up near the entrance to the MDR or near folks tables. I know its not proper, but no one has ever said anything. FWIW, the MDR isn't crowded at all on debark morning. I suspect lots of folks do without any kind of breakfast..trying to get to wherever they left their cars, or the airport. Thnaks again. Great post.

Thank you! My husband uses a cpap machine. I was just concerned because of painkillers and my sons Ritalin. Wasn’t sure how customs is with that stuff.

Getting on ship: I have a cpap machine and take 5 different pills. I put all of that in my cpap case and run them thru customs, no problem. Getting off ship. We eat breakfast in main dining room and then go back to cabin to get our luggage(we each take a suitcase, so we carry it off). We are Platinum and get an early off benefit, BUT we dont use that as every one is packed in a room like sardines, griping, etc. So we get off by muster station, smooth. Being in a hurry spoils the trip. Customs has a facial recognition feature and they process you of real fast getting off. Been on 26 cruises and we have had no problem getting on or off ship, just be happy, not in a hurry, enjoy the experience. We just laugh at the in a hurriers and the gripers, patience is a virture. We eat in the main dining room for evening meal SOMETIMES, depending on what is on menu. We love steakhouse, a free bottle of wine on first day cruising and it is casual dress. We are"introverts" so we like to eat alone, not putting up with strangers B. S.. When we cannot get a table for 2 we eat on lido. Breakfast in main dining room is great for eating alone as they seat you at a table for 2. Lunch is mainly on lido, hamburgers, lunch buffet, mdr is closed for lunch. We are on vacation, so we do not dress up. They have an elegant night where you are supposed to dress up, we eat on lido deck, always casual for us. Another thing we dont do is use the pools. We have not seen anybody get out of the pool to pee, lots of "P" in the "ools". I had a lifeguard show me the pool filters at the rec center he worked at.NASTY, all sorts of hairs and poo from kids in those filters. No ship pools for us.

Miracle is a great Spirit class ship, we spent 14 days on Miracle going thru the Panama canal and had a blast. Hope you have a great cruise.

Nothing to worry about anymore. You just go to your muster station, which all the crew members will help you find, you just check in with the crew member assigned to it, and then watch a video in your cabin...alot less milling around and waiting at your muster station which will in all likelihood be indoors anyway.. The old days of being up on deck outside are over. Wasn't aware they would arrange a "personal" thing for you. Might not be a bad idea anyway. Bout skeighty-eight cruises ago, pre-change, one of the crew happened to notice my wife walking with a cane...told us it would be easier going to the library, they do it there for handicapped guests...now realize she got around pretty well, (and still does)...but we looked at each other, wandered off to the library, where only about a dozen folks were...and sho' nuff....did the whole thing sitting down, at ease...So if they offer, why not? no crowds at all then....be finished in 5 minutes and go about your bizness...
