Half Moon Cay's New Venue - Lobster on the Beach at Lobster Shack

Are you are tired of the same ole BBQ served to cruise passengers on private Islands? Well Holland America has just introduced a new casual restaurant called Lobster Shack on its private Island of Half Moon Cay. Chefs from the ship will cook up lobster, rice, coconut beans and 2 special salsas. It is not complimentary, unfortunately, like the standard BBQ but will cost $20 pp. Perhaps, though, it beats standing in a long line in the hot sun. Is this something you might be interested in trying?

Well, I just booked a cruise to match my cheap flight deal.

Carnival Sensation 5 day Nassau, Freeport, and HMC. Maybe I'll get a shot at that lobster shack Big Smile

I hope that she gets to try it.

We may run into each other some day. We love staying on board. It's like having the ship to ourselves.

Well, now we know why it's so hard to get lobster on a Carnival ship these days. They were all allocated to Holland America.

I'm not a big lobster fan, so I would not bother with it. On private island days I enjoy staying on the ship when it is nice and quiet.

I meant to add that I would rather take a cruise up to Canada & Maine. We can get off in Portland, walk down the block to the little lobster shack on the pier. One of the best lobster rolls I ever had. And I didn't have to fight 2000 others, or worry about it dropping in the sand.

3000 passengers fighting to get off a ship to get one of only about 250 lobsters. Sounds like fun to me.

Caribbean lobster is fine in the Caribbean, but if I’ll take “real” lobster in New England any day! Love

Hmm, I’m intrigued. I love the included food on the private islands (How come lunch tastes so much better sitting on the beach?) but it’s always good to have options!

Not a lobster fan either. Now if it were shrimp......Big Smile
