Half Moon Cay after Hurricane Irma

Just an FYI--Holland America posted yesterday that Half Moon Cay was only minimally impacted by Irma and should be fully operational soon. So, anyone scheduled for a visit later this year should still expect to stop in Half Moon Cay!

Why is this post resurrected?

According to the rep I spoke with last week, the port has some damage but only minor and if the information is correct, I'll be there a week from today.

That is good news.

I stay up to date on the Carnival's website and those itineraries affected by Maria some are now porting at Half Moon Cay which is good news for me since I'm there on the 10th October.

I'm being optimistic.

Holland bought the island Half Moon Cay is on for $6 million USD in 1996 and roughly 2% of it has been developed. Damage will be quickly repaired and infrastructure replaced which is good news for those porting there.

I hope Jacks Shack doesn't get killed my Maria In Cockburn Town

Thanks for sharing this info.

Hurricane Maria is still out in that area so I would be somewhat optimistic but that picture can still change ....

We are on Carnival Pride Oct. 1-7, just got notification we are heading to Half Moon Cay and Naasau & Freeport. instead of Grand Turks and Ciaos.
