Good move, but most likely too late.

What? If Governor De Santis of Florida prevails in court, what ever is left of cruises to Alaska is over in 2021?--- https://www.adn.com/business-economy/2021/06/03/cdc-says-florida-lawsuit-imperils-summer-cruises-to-alaska/
Very little cruise traffic to South Central Alaska this season (Whittier and Seward are the port for Anchrorage)-- https://www.adn.com/business-economy/2021/05/28/big-cruise-ships-arent-coming-to-southcentral-alaska-this-year-but-local-tourism-operators-say-independent-travelers-are-helping-offset-the-loss/
Hopefully the extra travel will help where the cruises don’t!

Actually no--------With the exception of the Kenai Wilderness Princess Lodge, the other four will remain closed until a 2022
Impressive..he could've/should've been a meal....we have black bears around here...fortunately, never "ran into one"......which is a good thing, because as virtually anyone who wanders thru the back of beyond knows (or ought to know) the advantage is almost always with the critter. about the best I could hope for under those circumstances is to bust enough caps to scare it off..and yes its amazing how fast something that big can move..especially when its moving at YOU...its not like the average stupid deer who stands around waiting to get shot. (my truck is NOT the best place to leave whatever I'm carrying when wandering..thats why its called "carrying"..).the chances of hitting a moving bear, with anything, are slim to nil. Worst case, you'd just piss it off...and if its momma after hibernation, with cubs, you can kiss your sweetness goodbye, doesn't matter how good a shot you are...HEYSOOS I need a cruise........mebbe we can talk about used cars next....
The Princess and HAL resorts are opening for an Alaskan season so flying to Anchorage and taking the train or bus are still an option to help Alaska. I imagine with absence of humans for a year, there will be more wildlife closer into the resort areas around the parks.
You might be on to something here cruisellama-------------------
This incident just took place the other day, very close to the location of the Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge. In fact, he lives about 60 miles due west of my summer haunt location in the Wrangells and I know him. He is our resident surveyor. In two days we begin winging our way north from a winter of snow birding here in Florida. Should be up at our place in the Wrangells within a week. I'm going to make sure my 44 mag. handgun is well oiled and ready as well as my Winchester 3 inch magnum short barrel 12 gauge bear slug pump action shotgun.

Gonna be a slow, careful roll out. Not expecting a sense of normalcy til the Summer of 22. All hinges on vaccinations and what ports will be open, etc.
Even if Congress gets the PSVA waived, the CSO is still in effect until 1 Nov, so sailings would be subject to that regulation. Unless the court throws it out. Then things can really move.
That is good news. Carnival has announced it would be able to go the end of July if the restiction was lifted! Let's hope other cruise line will be able to gear up and be ready to go and help save the Alaskan ports!

I hit the like button, but I am not really happy about that!
