Ever actually see anyone get left behind?

ALL cruise lines warn their passengers repeatedly about getting back to the ship by a certain time...or else. That's one of the reason so many folks, especially newbies, take tours blessed ($$) by the cruise line. I have NEVER actually seen anyone left at the dock. Probably because virtually every pier is physically closed b4 the ship leaves, and theres spotters on the dock with radios. We did see one clown, strolling down the pier...he was the last one. The CAPN obviously wasn't pleased, and gave him a blast from the ships horn...(They are....loud..)no effect, smiling strolling. I gotta tell you, at least 1000+ passengers lining the rail were booing him. Not that he cared...btw...Im convinced all those folks, including us, watch every departure, just to see if anybody gets left. We have had rumors (depending on the bar and the lateness of the hour) that indeed people don't make it back to the ship, and more than once. Theyre on their own..catch the ship at their own expense...or get themselves home and sort it out later....

We were in Kauai and their was a couple left behind. They called for them over an hour. The ship left a hour and half late. As we were pulling out and were completly turned around and heading out of port. here they came running. It was the last port before Los Angeles.

Agreed ! Me too. I always take Carnival excursions so I’m safe.

I always see them running 🏃🏾 back to the ship. I never thought it was funny but , I guess it is to some.

We haven’t seen anyone left behind, but have watched lots of pier runners.

Never and hope it stays that way

Yes we have. On our last cruise the names were called and we waited about 45 minutes past the original sail time. Our balcony faced the pier so we watched and no one came. Finally, one of the crew took a large envelope out to a lady waiting on the dock and we pulled away. After we had completely pulled away and the stern of the ship was at the end of the dock a family of 3 (Mom, Dad and small child) started down the dock to no avail. The lady took them in hand and obviously had all of their documents in the envelope.

We haven't seen anyone miss the ship, but we have seen some come close.

We were 45 minutes late returning from a Carnival Excursion to St John. The ferry forgot a bunch of us. There were a couple of ships affected and they did hold both ships. We were sure glad it wasn't a private excursion.
