I have booked a Cruise on MSC Virtuosa on Yacht Club with embarkation in Barcelona, but due to the pandemic situation, the ship has not been completed. MSC therefore chose to change the trip to MSC Grandiosa (Same dates, port etc. just a ship change). It's a shame but I accepted this change and got 100 € in onboard Credit!
Then 3 months passed
Yesterday I received a letter from the MSC stating that they had changed the embarkation port from Barcelona in Spain to Genoa in Italy, the dates had also been moved 2 days later. As compensation for this, MSC offers me a free excursion
I bought plane tickets myself to Barcelona! And now they cant be used, nor can they change to Genoa because the airline does not fly to that location. All in all, I have lost 400 € on flights due to this change (Old flight ticket, as well as new flight ticket which is no longer cheap because we are close to departure, and Genoa is a small airport without so many departures)
I have asked MSC if they will cover the old plane ticket (possibly through onboard credit), due to their change, they flatly reject this! And saying that is not their problem. Cancel the cruise is either not a option, they cant upgrade me because im already in YC. Im only offered a free excursion
What should i do in this situation? Should I just consider my money for the old flight to Barcelona and the new flight to Genoa as lost? What had you done in this situation?
