Hi All! Thanks to all the took the time to respond! I received the official word from MSC regarding electrical outlets. MSC said: Thank you for reaching out to us and I am sorry for any confusion. The ship is equipped with European and American features all you have to do is bring your devices. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at 877-665-4655
Thank you for the "official" reply from the cruise line itself.

I was only thinking of powering chargers.
Most chargers for phones and cameras are dual voltage. A transformer sufficiently powerful to use with hair appliances will be heavy. Most cruise lines provide hair dryers in cabins. It is often cheaper to buy a 220v device than to carry a transformer.
If in doubt whether a ship has 110 plugs (standard American plugs) or European plugs, it may be a good idea to buy a cheap transformer. I got one for about $12 at WalMart.
