Cuban Cigars and Rum

Am I understanding this correctly? US Citizens are now allowed to purchase cuban cigars and rum ANYWHERE they are sold with no monetary restraint as long as it is for personal consumption ??!!!

I will have to see if NB Liquor sells it here. I would be curious to try! Thanks

Fortunately we can also purchase a couple of different Cuban rums locally Big Smile

I would have to say that demerara rum is the finest especially from Guyana and in particular the El Dorado 15 year old. This is by far the nicest rum I have tasted and I do try to taste as many rums as I may. If you get a chance try some. Here in Ontario it can be had at the LCBO for $60 Canadian which is quite cheap for a good rum. I have tried many that are far more expensive and they did not compare for flavour or smoothness.

This is the rule as I know it. Haven't heard about it being changed.

It's evidently a new ruling about bringing it back to US.

Personally my favorite is Belize Rum. I am totally in love with 5 Barrel

Being a Canuck... It does not matter.

We have always had access, But I will admit Jamaican rum is a bit better.

And for those who have not tried it yet.

Hawaiian Rum is pretty good too.

In the past, US Citizens have always been able to buy Cuban cigars and rum outside the US. You just couldn't bring them back into the US.

I do not know that this rule has changed.
