Cruising career over ?

We are on our way home from Bermuda on the Celebrity Summit. Was this our last cruise forever ? I have questions. Will post more and a review next week. Be safe

Sorry to hear this, but I totally get it! Our first three post-Covid cruises, we could see the cutbacks and/or food limitations, but they didn't seem onerous. The Panama Canal transit was every tiny thing going wrong; one after another, after another, after another..... So we moved our October cruise to January, hoping the kinks are worked out by then. I understand that the cruise lines arehaving issuses. BUT, we are paying more and getting less. Hoping time improves the situations.

Don't know where my post went, and I'm beginning not to care. Suffice it to say this is the good ol "pay more get less" and "new normal"............

Heard very good things about the Joy from several people we met on the beach.

Sorry to hear things were not as expected. I am hoping that I am not setting my expectations too high for our upcoming cruise on NCL Joy. Have been so looking forward to finally getting on board after too many near misses.

Sorry folks. As I remember things I jot them down.

Want cereal for breakfast ? Well, no small boxes on the Summit. They have these bulk dispensers. You turn the wheel (cup) to dispense the cereal. Thing is, unless you ask for more, they only give you one cupful. If it was self serve it wouldn’t be bad, but I hate to ask for more. I find it embarrassing.

Oh, if anyone is going on Celebrity in the near future, please make note of the room service menu. The Summit had the smallest room service menu I have ever seen. There was about 12 items available. That’s it. I’m just wondering if this is a fleet wide thing.
thanks

Okay, so, first of all, take my opinion with a grain of salt. This was my experience on the Celebrity Summit. We were on the Century years ago and loved it, so we were looking forward to a high end experience again. Sadly, it didn’t happen. Now, the staff were amazing, no complaints there. The food, outside of the dining room and restaurants, was bland, no imagination, and rather pedestrian. The stores were small. No library or card room. No self service at the Buffett There seemed to be a lot of corner cutting. Post CoVid ? Maybe. But if this is something that is going on industry wide, I’m done with cruising( unless friends are getting together). I met some people on the Joy ( NCL ) and one woman said it was the nicest ship she’d been on. History of 100+ cruises. So we may go back to NCL and hope for the best, as our last trip with them was terrible.
Look, being on a ship is better than being home, I get that. But I also expect a certain amount of quality. This was not the Celebrity I remember or expected.

Thoughts and critiques are always welcome.

Docking now. It’s good to go away, but good to be home too.

We will have to wait for the review ....

I'm confused, what happened to make you think it's your last cruise?
