Cruise ships return to Galveston on Sunday

I just found this on a local TV station website. Very encouraging!

Cruise ships set to return to Galveston this weekend in hopes to welcome passengers this summer - ABC13 Houston

If anyone discovers what time they are due in port, I might head down and welcome them.

We shall have to see what happens with this. There are still a number of major hurdles before those ships can actually carry passengers.

Any step forward is a good thing! Let’s hope that this is more than window dressing. Hope it goes according to plan!Big Smile

Up until now, Most of what I've seen related to a summer restart has been talk, rumor, speculation and a couple lawsuits. This is the first real action I've seen.

That became my favorite port...after NO, which IMHO is one step away from shantytown. I'm holding my breath that it actually means something......anybody know WHICH ships? NCL doesn't cruise out of there, so its all CCL and RCL??

I don't know which ships, but I plan to go down there on Sunday and will report back.

Pre-COVID, Galveston handled CCL and RCL with an occasional visit by Disney.

RCL is supposed to start construction on a new terminal this month and there's rumor that Princess might start sailing out of Galveston once RCL moves out of terminal 2.

Of course COVID changes everything, so who knows!

I was just going to post this! I believe it will be CCl ships, possibly Breeze and Vista, but that was all just internet hearsay. John Heald is supposed to post info on them once he finds out.

I truly hope this is a step in the right direction.. I read that CCL has hired Bureau Veritas to assist with getting their ships up to speed with the COVID prep. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

This is actually good news. I feel happy when hearing about things like this.

The Vista is on her way to Galveston.. Love

OUTSTANDING FIND!! She's our first up end of NOV...we hope we hope we a Havana balcony.........VISTA was homeported out of Galveston pre-c...good to see she probably will be post-c..........or am I getting carried away???
