Cruise Line Private Island Catches on Fire

Princess Cays caught on fire last night. There's not much detail yet on how much damage but it doesn't sound good. The Bahamas Press reported it as being "gutted." Sad

All is well, Princess Cays back in the game--------Today. "Only public-facing building damaged is one restroom Several operations buildings on the south side of the island were damaged. "On arrival they met four wooden structures full ablaze. They were the generator house, reverse osmosis water plant, mechanic shop and tool shed on property. All four structures were totally destroyed.

The fire was contained within several hours to the mid-section of the Cay. The cause of the blaze is unknown to authorities."

Wow .. just wow .. not a good thing. I guess treat it as if a hurricane flattened it and rebuild. Just hope no one was injured.

This story says it is gutted.

At this point i would think ships will have to find an alternate port or have an extra sea day

Well that was certainly an attention getter. Hope no one was injured. GOOGLE "Princess Cays fire" and theres a bunch of references along with additional vids...It was in the gen house, and spread..so clearly the place has no power..I doubt they'll stop there for the foreseeable future...

At least no reports of injuries or death. It was a beautiful place to visit. Hopefully, it will recover quickly! Thanks for the information.
