Cruise Line Apps without a WIFI Package

I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos about how important the cruise lines apps are preboarding and during the cruise. What I haven't see is any discussion having to buy a WIFI plan to use the while underway. Seem logical, what if you want an unplugged getaway?

They are packing more and more info on to those apps. They're now needed for dinner & spa reservations onboard. Also the daily activities "flyer" is on the app. On our last cruise one would have to go down to guest services if you wanted a printed copy. I'm sure printed copies will soon disappear altogether.

They couldn't possibly force you to purchase the Wi-Fi plan to use the onboard app. On the other hand they are desperate to make every dollar they can, so who knows what the future holds. I can easily envision them charging a couple dollar per day (per person of course) for the "Onboard Activities Plan".

I had better shut up now, just in case they're monitoring this forum.

Same with NCL. Use of their app or website or that other forum are free to all onboard. It is only if you want to access other internet sights that you need a package.

Getting tiresome..had a detailed answer and it got eaten...you don't need a wifi package to use the hub...more later..
