I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you do.

I won't need to make one for mine...one of the perks of being a healthcare worker means:

1.) I'm in group 1A

2.) I can get it right at work, so I don't need to deal with the hassel of making an appointment elsewhere

Good idea. We got our 2nd Moderna at the end of Feb. It wasn't quite 7 months. Hopefully just showing up will work. Good luck.

Actually I was checking the UCHealth (where we got our initial injections) website, because I finally learned how to screenshot something on my phone, for our original vaccine documentation. I decided to check when the booster would be available and what the criteria might be. It said it was currently giving booster shots to groups 1a & 1b with 6 months after last injection. We are group 1b and it was 6+ months after the last injections for both of us. I made an appointment and it went as smoothly.

Thats interesting...called the drugstore where we got the shots to begin with and the answer was NO across the board...until the FED blesses it. then its supposed to be 8 months after the second shot....IF they have it to dispense (whatever that means) we got the Moderna vax ......so right now we're about a month shy...not going to start another epic, but we'll probably be at Walmart tomorrow and I'll belly up to the drug counter and ask.

If you plan on getting the booster I believe you can pretty much walk in and get it. I was surprised when I first asked at Walmart that they had it available. That was the first of August. I didn't get it at that time because I was getting the Shingrex vaccine. Look at it as beating the WHO and those who will mess it up soon. Good luck!

Yep, thats why I bumped my nauseatingly long "FACTS" thread up again...not just because the time factor changed, but I believe who gets the "booster" (whenever it becomes available) will vary depending on where you go...just like the testing for the bug itself....availability, and "the rules" for it will vary...

Publix asked questions Walmart didn't. Do you take blood pressure meds, meds for a chronic condition, over 60? Think you are good to go. Reading an article in today's paper. FDA experts among group against US booster shot plan...not because it isn't safe but because WHO wants poor countries better vaccinated. Once again, as soon as the Feds gets involved it will be goofed up.

I guess what I meant was did you have to have some sort of medical condition to qualify?, or can anybody get one "just because...?"

We just showed up for our booster. Walmart is doing them too. We were in Publix and asked at their pharmacy and got it then. We wanted to try and get it done before the Federal government said it was a "go" because once that happens everything will get goofed up. No appointment was needed but we did have to fill out information forms.
