No mention of restrictions or virus plans...yet...

I don't know much about Carnival itself, I do, however, cruise with Princess. Currently I have a Feb 2021 cruise booked. If the rate of the virus decreases in significant manner, then the chances of cruising may be fair to good. When the second wave, and there is always a second wave, hit the planet and the numbers are high because of the loosening and removal of all precautions then all industries will suffer more than they did in the first wave. At the moment, I feel erring on the side of caution would be wise. If the second wave is worse than the first, then Governments and businesses will surely suffer as much as the population will.

You're starting to sound like me...or I'm starting to sound like you. Either way, cynicism is good...especially out here in say anything land... I couldn't find anything on the CLIA website either...on the other hand, I'm finding all kinds of statements, too many to list here, from sources that lead me to believe there won't be a need for a hall pass. If you GOOGLE something like "cruising over 70 doctors note" or any combination of words that can back you into that subject, and surf around, you'll see what I saw that leads me to believe its accurate. (Not to mention discriminatory, perhaps thats the real reason they dropped it..) But in any event, I'd like to see an "official" statement as well..I'd accept it from the CLIA...IF...repeat IF, they would cite the source from the CDC, which seems to be driving this bus....

Good questions that have no answers. I think the cruiselines are just flying by the seat of their pants as most are. They say what they think we want to hear to keep us interested. They can always change that down the road at no charge but to say nothing now people loose interest. They need a carrot to dangle and that be it.

Great .. but .. how official is this. It is from a contributor. I have learned not to believe everything I see on the internet. I went to CLIA web site and see nothing of this on there and it was there initial recommendation. I do not see where they have withdrawn that yet. Would be nice to see something official on this.

How are they going to implement these new dates and ships while no international travel is still permitted from many countries as the borders are closed? These ship will only be able to book Americans...also like me that are international can't even have health insurance from out of country because of covid.

Modified Cruise Ship Regulations No Longer Require Doctor Notes For Passengers Over 70

April 29, 2020

Great. love to read that link..can you find it again?

I read the feds let the medical note requirement expire months ago.

Well said all around. I suspect that as a group, we are probably better informed as to the "minutiae" of cruising. And how much of a zoo it can be, even if you know the tricks..I find it hard to believe that CCL for example, can unilaterally make this announcement without knowing the conditions it has to meet. The "over 70" hall pass is not there, or on NCLs' site anymore either... what does that mean? the FED is letting it go? who knows? COASTERKING said it right...how about letting US in on the secret of how they intend to pull off a cruise?? soup to nuts as it were...
