Carnival Magic...so awefull it TRAGIC

Nov 11-17. Food in main dining so awefull. Cold, dried out, tasteless Salmon 1st night. Ate at Italian 2nd. Frankly, it was worse. Had Chk Parm, tasted like pre-formed frozen Chk. Sauce tasted like watered down tomato puree. 3rd night tried dining again. Flat Iron steak. Dear Lord, I did not think it could get much worse. It did. I ordered Med Rare, it was tough, Rare, cold and tasted rancid. The only decent meal was eating at Guy Fieri's or their high-end Steakhouse or the Mongolian barbecue. Chef for dining needs to be replaced.

Easy solution, eat the fries and dump the burger. If they see it happen often enough, they might get the hint and let you order just the fries.

We were on the Magic in August, had a great time. Given the number of people being served, food can always be a hit or miss. They are also happy to take replace a dish if something is wrong.

BDRebel I agree with your response. We have great experiences with Carnival. Will I try other cruise lines? I plan to. Will I keep sailing with Carnival - yep! Happy

Buckeye - that is not true.

RC is not a high end cruise line any more than Carnival is. RCI offers a bit more activity for a bit more money than Carnival.

As far as Carnival being the trailer park of cruise lines, that is possible -- but I have been at several nice, high-end trailer parks.

As I stated in another thread, Carnivals reputation stems from the 1% of customers that do not know how to act amongst other humans. You can also find that same one percent on RCI, Princess and Celebrity.

You have to look at carnival like this ... well it’s the trailer park of cruise lines ... if your going to get drunk and Eve wild and crazy it’s for you if your looking for a better time amenitys then you might wanna pick royal or another higher end one college kids can not afford 🤷🏽‍♂️

I took a behind the fun tour on Conquest. They had us tour the galley(kitchen) and if you see what they have to do to prepare meals for 3000 plus guests each meal, plus the waitstaff getting the food to us, you would appreciate the meals a little better. Again it is the tastes of different people, but I think the food they serve is part of the cruise experience you pay for. If the food on Carnival ships is not to your liking, they take it back and get you something else. We have never had any food problems on the 14 different cruises we have had on Carnival

On Valor I just get fries and they are o k with that

Those fries are really good, and I wish we could order just them, but I've been told they will only serve them along with a burger. My fav lunch is the grilled Rueben from the deli.

Been on Magic twice! GIMMMEEE THA GREASE!!! I like all food served on Carnival ships. If I see something on the menu I dont like I go to another eatry. We all have different palates. Love those greasy guys burgers and fries!!!

You are absolutely right about food tastes being subjective- Guys burgers are a HUGE hit and there’s always a lineup it seems, but not ones I enjoy. I love kale in a salad but DH hates it. LOL

Perhaps your working in the food industry has allowed you to develop your taste in food much better than I.

My local fare consists of poorly made food served by poorly trained "service" staff. To me, Carnival's food is gourmet. I'm not saying this to discount your opinion, but merely to point out that food is subjective.

Bonnie - as far as Guy's burgers being greasy messes, that is what (to me) makes them so good!!
