Captains Announcement to Crew! | Cruise Ship Employees being sent home!

This shows that cruising will not be back soon. Crew members that were put onto ships in December for test sailings and cruise re-starting being sent home. With the expense of taking thousands of crew home, we know they will not start back up in a month or two.

Thanks for sharing. I wish it was better news. This is definitely a step backwards.Sad

Thanks for bringing that to our attention. I noticed that in general, optimism was beginning to wane because of the new case numbers and the problems with the vaccine roll out. Obviously this is not going to bolster anyone's hopes

I was holding out a small hope that our 6/19 cruise would still happen, but I have to admit to rapidly losing confidence.

Oh well, I guess it's time to start looking at '22.

Oh my.

Tapping out...

Just learned our October Med cruise is now canceled.

No faith in the government or the industry to get business operations back online. Very disappointed.

There are common sense ways to deal with these things

We dont matter... its up to the company to fight for its own business. My role as a consumer is to simply... stop consuming and find something else to do with my time and money.... which is sad... we've really enjoyed cruising and it sucks that apparently our governments have singled this industry out for a special measure of punishment.... i can crowd in to my neighborhood Wal-Mart whenever i want... but God forbid i spend a wèek sitting the balcony of a beautifully clean ship sailing the Caribbean.

Sorry - its just stupid

I HAD kind of thought by the late summer or early fall.......not anymore......and if they do sail in OCT/NOV, its debatable if they can get away with it....sad indeed......

I am even becoming skeptical of cruises for the spring of 2022 at this point. We here north of the border heard (via the news) that our vaccine program will be 6 months behind what was expected due to a lack of available vaccine. I am still looking at September at the earliest and probably later for first shot.

With crews going home this is not unexpected. Most cruise lines will start back cruising with one or three ships leaving the rest of the fleet in mothballs till they can get a smooth and acceptable system in place and then start bringing back crew and get back to sailing.

Sad.. Crying,

'21 is turning into '20 redo. Operators need to go to more cruise friendly regions to start some test voyages. May only be limited to the locals of that region for now.
