Bird in cabin?

The first time I had a balcony cabin I slept with the door open since I like falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Then I thought, "What if a bird flies into my cabin while I'm asleep?" I wouldn't like that since birds sometimes leave behind messing, gooey, and gross "calling cards". So now I sleep with the door closed.

Has anyone ever had a bird fly into their cabin? Anyone else here prefer to sleep with their balcony door open?

Nope. I always keep the door closed. I like a nice cold cabin to come back to or sleep in.

I was thinking seagull. If one of Edgar Allen Poe's or Alfred Hitchcock's birds ever showed up it might be enough to put me off from cruises!

Cool concept. Goony bird? Albatross? Or the garden variety seagull? Emissary of St. Francis - or Edgar Allen Poe?

Never happened to me or mine - but my balcony door stays closed to prevent theft rather than preventing illegal avians.
