Am I cruising on the right ship

Good for you. that's the short version of what a lot of folks have been saying for a long time. Ships differ, crews are changed, weather and other stuff "happens". Doesn't seem to take much to sour a person on a ship or line. Maybe its because its such a big ticket item, folks expect EVERYTHING to be whatever version of "perfect" they expect. Just doesn't work that way. I write reviews (not all the time) and thinking back on a cruise, report some stuff I didn't like, or thought they could have done better. Didn't affect my overall attitude toward the cruise tho. It woud take a seriously ugly series of events to get me to that place.

I recently cruised on a ship that had a lot of bad reviews but we had a great time. We did not have one complaint. I went on the cruise with every intention of having fun and that's what we did.

Mine uses BREO and so we don't appreciate the smoke either, or occasionally having to walk thru it.. What we didnt like was what passes for the Oriental "restaurant" being lunch counters next to the casino. Never ate there. But you won't be bothered by the smoke at all...not to worry.

Thanks for the info, if I'm not mistaken the casino is on deck 7, our cabin in on deck 10 aft. so hopefully we won't have a smoke problem, because my wife has asthma and that would really be a problem.

Go on YouTube and watch one of the many Breakaway videos for a tour of the ship. We sailed her last February. Our main concern was the smoke from the casino. The casino is open to the deck above and below it and it was really smokey.

Hi, just to answer your questions, where I got these reviews. From Cruiseline.com, I've also read quite a few reviews from different sites, some good, some not so good, I going to try when we do go on our cruise not to be to critical about every little thing. I think I will have a problem because my last cruise was on the Disney Magic Concierge and I know I going to compare, which could make the cruise harder than it might be.

Don't draw conclusions from simple up/down votes or stars. Read some reviews and add some color to an opinion as its not black n white. Everyone is entitle to an opinion, you don't have to agree - look at several perspectives then judge.

Do not trust only one site for reviews. Check several. I have not heard from friends who cruise NCL or from several sites I frequent ever badmouth the Breakaway. Enjoy your cruise.

Not sure where you're getting these "rankings" from. Been on BREAKAWAY 2x in the past year...no problems whatsoever. going on her sister GETAWAY in a few weeks and don't anticipate any...is that a guarantee? nope...stuff happens...to every ship, everywhere...be careful reading "anecdotal" reviews from back in the day. Some folks complain about things that went wrong YEARS ago and how they would NEVER cruise a particular line again.. etc etc.. others cruise the same ships, sometimes more than once, and have nothing in particular evil to say about it. Are some ships "better" than others? you bet...then, of course...define "better"...are some lines "cheaper" than others...ABSOLUTELY!....I used to wonder about folks who cruised 20-30-40 times and more...now I get it...if you step onboard LOOKING for issues, you'll find them, but Im sure that's not why you cruise to begin with...
