A Word About Noro Virus versus Flu

After 12 cruises in a year, it finally hit me ... A bout of the Noro Virus which lasted about 36 hours and fortunately waited till I was home to hit. I now know the difference between the two - Noro vs regular flu - because the Noro comes on like a freight train and the symptoms (vomiting/diarrhea) are non-stop for several hours. And violent. I can only imagine how horrific it would be if I were on a cruise ship when it hit....it was difficult enough in my own bathroom and I can't fathom being in a cruise ship bathroom ... impossible.

As a word of warning, when I say comes on abruptly and violently, you have 2 seconds before imploding ... Should you feel hot clammy slightly nauseous - do not WAIT for it to pass - run!

Great morning banter for ya but I guess I wanted to stress the difference in the two because the Noro hits so hard and fast. The good news was that my husband was/is perfectly fine!

Sorry you have been sick. All I've managed to catch so far is the infamous cold/bronchitis thing.

What with being in crowded airports and cruise terminals, as well as the ships and planes, it's a wonder we all don't get sick every time.
