2nd cruise with Royal Caribbean
This was our 2nd cruise with RCI and it certainly did not disappoint.
We took this cruise together with my 2 brothers and their wives - we're an international family of 4 nationalities living in 3 countries and is a splendid way for us to get together.
Rhapsody of the Seas
Remember that it's not one of Royal Caribbean's biggest, or newest, but the layout and design are excellent!
No excursion! Point of arrival and departure on the Explorer. We explored the city for a day prior to departure, but could have easily spent a week there!
a medical emergency on board meant that we had to miss Mystery Island
The town of Lautoka is not one of the world's architectural gems, however the hinterland is stunning!
This was not our first visit to Sydney. We did do an excursion to the Blue Mountains, which we arranged via our hotel on arrival.
We spent much of the daytime in the Ana Moana shopping mall (at a splendid café with good food and internet services). We joined friends at Waikiki for a fantastic evening meal at a grand hotel.
The town of Suva is not one of the world's architectural gems, however the hinterland is stunning!
I have never seen the International Dateline referred to as a 'Port'.
We stayed in Lahaina, did not do an excursion, had a great lunch at a local café, just watching the world go by!
Beautiful tropical Island. No excursion undertaken. We just ook the tender to shore, stayed in the village, did some walking.
Mare Isle, Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia
Another beautiful tropical Island, but with better beaches than Lifou. We took the tender to shore and the shuttle to beautiful Yejele beach for snorkeling.
Explorer of the Seas
The Promenade Deck (4) is excellent for walking if the sun is too strong on Deck 12!
Jewel of the Seas
navigation around the ship is easy, as the central lift shaft is only on one side - this was different on the other RCI ship we were on last year
