Norwegian Star

October 2017 - Norwegian Star to Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Adriatic Sea Norwegian Star VAcation

The cruise was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves beautiful sites and history. Take advantage of the hospitality of the folks who live in these places. The people were friendly for the most part and most of them spoke English.

Carnival Fascination

January 2017 - Carnival Fascination to Caribbean - Southern

Carnival Fascination

Wow!!!  This was the best cruise I have ever had!  And I've been on 9 of them!!!  The staff was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond their duties.  The ship was spotless.  The food was excellent and the fun was never ending!  Felipe, the Cruise Director and his staff are out of this world.  My favorites were DJ Cruz, DJ G-One, Jay Jay, Brad, all Felipe's assistants and Carolina from the Sensation Dining Room.  The security guards made sure I was safe at the club every night.  Danny and the rest of the gang from After School Special sang their hearts out and were fantastic!!!  I met some amazing people and can't wait to cruise with them again!!  The excursions we went on were the best yet.

Carnival Pride

January 2016 - Carnival Pride to Caribbean - Southern

January journeys cruise

The ship is beautiful.   A lot of retired folks on this cruise.  Not a lot to do on sea days during day.  Excellent dining room staff.  Maitre'd was best we ever had.

Cruiser606's Tips

Piraeus (Athens), Greece - The actual Port of Athens was not what we expected. It was a very crowded city but clean. We took a tour through Dream Vacations to the ruins and that was just amazing!!! We climbed to the top and say the Acropolis, Poseidon's Temple and the Parthenon. When we were done, we did some shopping in Plaka which is at the bottom of the ruins. Again, great shopping, great shops, affordable prices. The only issue we had were some ladies selling fabric and if you touched the fabric, they wanted to charge you. They hounded us and followed us until we finally got rude and said leave us alone.
Split, Croatia - Croatia was beautiful. It reminded me of a tropical island. We visited the Palace area here and did some shopping. Very peaceful place with a lot of sea front activity going on near the port. Public markets, shopping, art venues. It was nice. Again, very affordable.
Venice, Italy - Venice was amazing. A bit crowded, but beautiful. You have to try Gelato anywhere in Venice! YUMMY! The Gondola ride was overpriced for the time you got in it, but it was still cool. Make sure to visit St. Mark's Square. Simply gorgeous and the best Gelato was there. The little mom and pop restaurants were the best and very decently priced.
Katakolon (Olympia), Greece - The Captain was able to port to let us off the ship, but then had to leave and we tendered back to the ship at the end of the day. Olympia was nice. We took a bus tour to Olympia where we paid to go see the ruins. It was amazing seeing the history there. The Port of Katakolon was gorgeous. It's right on the sea and the little shops were fantastic. There was so much to do here and we couldn't fit it all in one day. They had food, bars, pedal tours, train rides, horse drawn carriages, shops.... and everything was so affordable!!!
Dubrovnik, Croatia - Absolutely BREATHTAKING! Make sure to take a camera and go visit the old city. The Game of Thrones was filmed here and it is gorgeous. Climb to the top of one of the forts and just take in the beauty. We took a taxi to the Old City which was only about 10 minutes from the port.
Kotor, Montenegro - INCREDIBLE was the word for this beautiful port. Mountains everywhere. Fjords actually. We did a tour of the city and then walked the fort. It was 1700 steps to the top of the cliff where the views were amazing, but we chose not to go all the way up.
Norwegian Star Norwegian Star - The Captain on this ship was awesome. Daily he gave us historical information about the port we were entering. He also kept us updated when the sea was a tad rough.
Carnival Fascination Carnival Fascination - Catch up on sleep now because you will have a fun time on this ship thanks to the crew! I didn't fall into bed until 2 AM almost every night and was up bright and early the next morning. Make sure to check out the club as the DJ's are great and we had a blast dancing with them.
