We must fly to most ports we cruise from, so always trying to minimize our luggage to avoid checking bags. (Really hate the wait at baggage claim). Was able to pack in a carry-on sized bag for a 7-day out of Miami. Anyone else ever do that on for a 7-day? Shoes and more formal wear seem to be the challenge. Share any hacks.

Nope. Cannot be done. We live too far from an airport and then we take an extended stay after the cruise to enjoy the area

I packed in a carry on and my back pack for my last 7 night cruise and 4 days in Seattle, so 11 day with no checked bag. I did do laundry at the hotel, so got second use out of everything.
I have done carry on on most cruises. Only time I have checked bags has been for 4 week long trips to Europe.

My wife would love it if I could do that. She could then fill up one large and one medium size suit case with her things. She has explained to me girls like choices.

I wouldn’t want to try to pack that lightly either. Some carry on suitcases are a pretty good size, but I would rather over pack than under pack, so I’ll continue packing a checked piece of luggage.
